Set of Four Antique Oak Jacobean Revival Dining Chairs – Circa 1890–1910

A magnificent set of four antique oak dining chairs, dating approximately to the late Victorian to Edwardian period, circa 1890–1910.

Substantial, beautifully proportioned and full of period character, these impressive chairs show a strong Jacobean Revival influence, combining richly coloured oak frames with tall upholstered backs, generous seats and wonderfully decorative turned front legs.

The front supports are a particular highlight, with bold carved and turned detailing that beautifully showcases the grain and aged colouring of the oak. Traditional square stretchers give the chairs a strong architectural quality and complete their distinctive period appearance.

Both the seats and tall rectangular backs are upholstered in a deep brown fabric and finished with traditional decorative studding around the edges.

Perfect surrounding a substantial farmhouse or antique dining table, these would also work beautifully within a country house, period property or layered contemporary interior.

Condition

Presented in good antique condition with age-related wear and signs of previous use throughout.

The oak frames retain a wonderful depth of colour and character, with expected marks, knocks and variations associated with furniture of this age.

The existing upholstery displays visible signs of use, including some marks and wear. The chairs are offered with the upholstery exactly as photographed and could equally provide an excellent opportunity for future reupholstery.
