A beautiful and highly decorative pair of antique mahogany bergère chairs, dating to approximately 1900–1920 and displaying elegant Regency and Empire Revival influences.
The standout feature of these chairs is their wonderful circular cane backs, intricately woven in a radiating pattern around a central turned wooden boss. The natural cane continues across the seats, contrasting beautifully against the rich dark mahogany frames.
Elegant tapered front legs, gently curved rear supports and beautifully balanced proportions complete the design. Their unusual circular backs give them considerably more character than a conventional pair of antique dining chairs.
A wonderfully versatile pair, ideal as occasional chairs, bedroom chairs, dressing table chairs or statement dining chairs, equally at home within a traditional country house or a more contemporary interior.
