A wonderfully characterful antique Victorian pine washstand chest of drawers, dating to approximately c.1870–1890, with a beautifully mellow colour and naturally developed patina.

Constructed in solid pine, this handsome late 19th-century piece features a traditional raised gallery back with elegantly shaped sides, a broad planked top and a practical arrangement of two short upper drawers above two generous full-width drawers.

Traditional turned wooden knobs, individual keyholes and charming bun feet complete the wonderfully simple country design.

What makes this piece particularly appealing is its beautifully honest appearance. Generations of use have created an abundance of natural character across the pine, with historic marks, knocks, scratches, old holes and variations in colour giving the chest the unmistakable warmth of genuine antique country furniture.

Perfect for an English country, farmhouse or rustic interior, it would make a beautiful bedroom chest, dressing chest, hallway piece or characterful storage solution.
