Antique Victorian Edwardian Serpentine Sideboard – Distressed Black

A wonderfully characterful late Victorian / early Edwardian serpentine sideboard, dating approximately c.1890–1910.

Finished in heavily distressed black, this substantial antique piece has a particularly attractive shaped front with rounded ends, two generous central drawers and cupboard storage positioned on either side.

Traditional turned bun feet, aged metal hardware and decades of natural wear give the sideboard a superb timeworn appearance. The black finish has worn through extensively in places to reveal the timber beneath, creating a genuinely individual piece with plenty of rustic character.

Condition

This is an antique piece displaying considerable age-related character and wear throughout, including scratches, knocks, marks, paint loss, rubbing and areas of exposed timber.

There is particularly noticeable wear across the top and painted surfaces. This is very much part of the piece’s distressed aesthetic rather than a pristine restored finish.
