Antique Edwardian Inlaid Mahogany Bureau Bookcase – c.1900

An exceptional Edwardian mahogany bureau bookcase / secretaire, dating approximately c.1900–1915 and beautifully executed in the Georgian Revival style.

Combining a glazed bookcase, traditional writing bureau and substantial drawer storage, this is an elegant and highly practical piece of antique furniture.

Crafted in richly coloured mahogany, the cabinet is enhanced by delicate stringing and decorative oval paterae inlay. The upper section features twin glazed doors with striking geometric astragal-style glazing, opening to reveal multiple shelves suitable for books, glassware or treasured collections.

The fall-front bureau opens to reveal a beautifully fitted writing interior incorporating pigeonholes, small drawers and a central cupboard, together with a generous writing surface.

Below are four graduated drawers providing excellent storage, each complemented by traditional brass swan-neck handles. The whole piece stands elegantly on bracket feet.
