A magnificent antique pine wardrobe / armoire dating from approximately 1880–1910, combining substantial proportions with exceptional decorative detailing.
The standout feature is undoubtedly the elaborate upper cornice, decorated with repeating geometric and stylised foliate motifs that continue around the sides. This unusual craftsmanship gives the wardrobe a distinctive Continental European folk-art influence and makes it considerably more decorative than a conventional antique pine wardrobe.
The pair of tall panelled doors sit above a substantial moulded plinth, while the beautifully aged pine displays wonderful grain, knots, colour variation and character developed over more than a century.
