Antique 1842 Victorian Oak Dining Chairs – Set of Four with Tan Leather Upholstery

A superb set of four antique oak dining chairs dating from 1842, combining beautiful early Victorian craftsmanship with rich aged character.

These handsome chairs feature shaped open backs with decorative carved rails, substantial turned front legs and traditional stretchered frames. The oak has developed a wonderfully deep, warm patina that highlights the grain and craftsmanship beautifully.

Each chair is upholstered in warm tan/brown leather, finished with traditional stud detailing around the backs. The leather complements the dark oak particularly well and gives the set a timeless country-house appearance.

Most notably, the chairs bear an 1842 date stamp to the underside, providing a wonderful period detail and confirming their considerable age.

Perfect around an antique or farmhouse dining table, while their distinctive design also makes them excellent occasional, desk or statement chairs.
