Vintage Art Deco Oak Coin-Operated Jukebox Music Cabinet – c.1930s

An exceptionally unusual vintage Art Deco coin-operated music machine / jukebox, believed to date from approximately the 1930s, housed within a beautifully constructed and highly decorative oak cabinet.

A remarkable survivor from the early age of electrically operated entertainment, this substantial piece combines fascinating mechanical history with the craftsmanship and architectural styling associated with the Art Deco period.

The oak cabinet has a wonderfully warm, established finish and features striking geometric raised panels, diamond-pattern detailing and stepped fluted corners. The glazed upper section reveals the internal selection area, accompanied by rows of period-style push-button controls.

Condition

Presented in good vintage cosmetic condition with age-related marks, knocks, surface wear and variations to the timber finish, consistent with the age and history of the piece.

The oak cabinet presents particularly well, retaining a wonderful depth of colour, established patina and plenty of period character.

The machine was previously observed working; however, it has not been fully function-tested by The Proudlove Studio and has not been PAT tested.

It is therefore being sold as a vintage collector’s piece requiring inspection by a suitably qualified person before being connected to an electricity supply or operated further.
