A beautifully elegant Edwardian mahogany dressing table with large swing mirror, dating to approximately 1900–1915 and most likely around 1905–1910.
This particularly attractive antique dressing table combines richly figured mahogany with delicate decorative stringing, elegant tapered legs and a wonderfully shaped serpentine front, reflecting the Georgian and Sheraton revival influences fashionable during the Edwardian period.
The dressing table offers excellent practical storage, with a curved central drawer flanked by four further drawers. Two additional raised jewellery or trinket drawers sit beneath the impressive mirror, providing useful smaller storage while adding beautifully to the overall proportions of the piece.
The drawer fronts display particularly attractive figuring framed with fine contrasting stringing, complemented by elegant traditional handles.
Above sits a substantial adjustable swing mirror supported between turned uprights with decorative finials. Combined with the generous dressing surface below, it creates a wonderfully practical piece for a bedroom or dressing room.
The rich mahogany colour, elegant proportions and beautiful period detailing make this a particularly striking example of Edwardian bedroom furniture.
