A wonderfully characterful Victorian pine washstand / dressing table, dating from approximately 1870–1890, displaying all the warmth, craftsmanship and individuality associated with genuine 19th-century country furniture.
Constructed in pine, the piece features a generously proportioned top with a raised gallery back, a substantial full-width drawer and an especially attractive pedestal base with beautifully turned supports and a shaped central stretcher.
The natural pine has developed a superb time-worn appearance, with rich tonal variation, historic marks and surface wear adding considerably to its character.
Originally intended as a washstand or dressing table, its proportions make it incredibly versatile today. It could work beautifully as a console table, hallway piece, dressing table, kitchen preparation table or statement piece within a rustic or country interior.
