Antique Regency Mahogany Child’s Chair c.1830–1860

A charming and unusual antique Regency to early Victorian mahogany child’s chair dating from approximately 1830–1860, beautifully crafted and rich in character.

Constructed from finely figured mahogany, this elegant chair features a decorative inlaid crest rail, attractive lattice splat back, shaped arms and a solid saddle seat. The warm colour and beautiful grain of the timber are enhanced by a rich aged patina developed over nearly two centuries.

Originally designed as a child’s or nursery chair, this piece now serves equally well as a decorative accent chair, hallway feature, bedroom chair or collector’s item. Its unusual form and quality craftsmanship make it a wonderful talking point and an increasingly desirable addition to period and country-house interiors.
