Antique Pine Dressing Chest with Mirror – Late Victorian / Edwardian, Circa 1900

A beautiful and highly characterful antique pine dressing chest with tall mirror, dating to approximately 1890–1910.

Dating from the late Victorian to early Edwardian period, this impressive piece combines generous drawer storage with an elegant mirrored dressing-table superstructure, creating a wonderfully practical and decorative piece of antique furniture.

The main chest features two short drawers above two generous full-width drawers, all finished with decorative brass drop handles and traditional key escutcheons. Above sits the tall rectangular dressing mirror, supported by beautifully shaped uprights and accompanied by a pair of small drawers and useful curved side shelves.

The decorative carved crest above the mirror provides a particularly attractive finishing detail.

The pine has developed a gorgeous warm honey-toned colour and natural aged patina, with beautiful grain, variations and signs of age throughout. Its wonderfully relaxed appearance makes it particularly suited to country house, farmhouse, cottage and rustic interiors.

A fabulous statement piece for a bedroom, dressing room or guest room, combining over a century of character with genuinely useful storage.
