Antique Late Victorian Two-Tone Chest of Drawers – Circa 1890

A beautifully proportioned late Victorian chest of drawers, dating from approximately circa 1880–1905, distinguished by its striking contrast of warm timber tones and timeless period proportions.

The chest follows the traditional two-over-two configuration, with two smaller upper drawers positioned above two generous full-width drawers. The lighter figured drawer fronts contrast beautifully against the richer, deeper-toned top, sides, mouldings and substantial plinth base.

Traditional brass swan-neck handles and individual keyholes complete the design, while the broad rectangular top provides an excellent surface for a mirror, artwork, lighting or decorative objects.

Elegant without being overly ornate, this is an exceptionally versatile antique that would work beautifully within an English country bedroom, traditional dressing room, period property or considered contemporary interior.
