Antique Georgian Mahogany Chest of Drawers – George III c.1790–1815

A beautifully proportioned antique Georgian mahogany chest of drawers, dating to approximately c.1790–1815.

With its wonderfully rich mahogany tones, elegant proportions and naturally developed patina, this is a particularly handsome example of late Georgian furniture. More than two centuries of use have given the timber a depth and character that simply cannot be replicated in modern furniture.

The chest features the traditional arrangement of two short drawers above two generous full-width drawers, with finely cockbeaded drawer fronts, key escutcheons and beautiful brass ring handles.

Raised upon shaped bracket feet, the restrained Georgian design makes this an exceptionally versatile antique — equally at home within a period property, country interior or alongside more contemporary furnishings.

A beautiful statement piece that also provides excellent everyday storage.

Condition

Presented in lovely antique condition with the marks, scratches, knocks, variations in colour and signs of historic use expected from a piece of this considerable age.

There is visible age-related wear across areas of the top and surrounding edges. Rather than detracting from the piece, these characteristics contribute to its authentic appearance and wonderful established patina.
